7th Grade Science

Classroom Rules:

  • Be on time.   You are counted tardy if you are not in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings.  This includes sharpening your pencil, borrowing supplies, and getting your notebook.

  • Bring materials.  Every day you need a blue or black pen or pencil to write with.  If you come to class without something to write with, you will be given a Step.

  • Raise hand and wait for permission.  Any talking or blurting out in the classroom will result in detention or being placed on a Step.

  • Keep lab and equipment clean.  All paper will be picked up off the tables and floor before you will be dismissed to your next class.

  • Teacher will dismiss class.  When the bell rings, no student will be allowed out of the classroom until I dismiss him/her.  If you leave the room without being dismissed, you will be placed on a Step.

Assignments:

Assignment sheets will be placed in the notebooks and the student is expected to write down the daily assignments.  Grades are also recorded on the assignment sheets.  Assigned work is due at the end of the period unless otherwise directed.  All assignments turned in must have a complete heading.  All papers turned in without names will not be graded.  It is the responsibility of the student to come to me and get any assignment missed due to absence from class.  If an assignment is not turned in, the student has until the next day to turn in the assignment for a maximum grade of 70.  If he/she has not completed the assignment by the next day, they must attend morning detention in order to complete the assignment.  A refusal to complete the assigned work will result in assignment to In-School Suspension (ISS).  Tutorials will be held before school beginning at 7:40 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Grading:

See student handbook for grading policy.

Classroom procedures:

Students are expected to be in their assigned seats when the tardy bell rings or they will be counted tardy.  They also need their Science book, notebook, and pen or pencil.  Students will only be allowed to leave class to use the restroom in extreme emergencies.

Materials:

Students are required to keep all Science materials in a 1-inch polybinder.  This notebook is kept in the classroom unless the student has homework or needs to study for a quiz or test.  He/ She also needs to bring a black or blue pen to write with and notebook paper to write on.

Conference Time:  8:00-8:46 am
