DRESS AND PERSONAL APPEARANCE

The District's dress code is established to teach grooming and hygiene, instill discipline, prevent disruption, avoid safety hazards, and teach respect for authority.  Students should be dressed and groomed in a manner that is clean and neat and that will not be a health or safety hazard to themselves or others.  Student success depends, in part, on how the student perceives himself/herself and others perceive him/her.  In this sense, defined standards of appearance assist the student in constructing a positive self image and impression upon others.

The Staff of the school is charged with enforcement of the District=s Dress and Grooming Code.  Interpretation of these codes is entirely within their judgment.  Final determination of acceptable dress and grooming rests with the principal or his/her designee and cannot be appealed.
