Dress and Grooming
Since the primary responsibility for the appearance and dress of each student rests with the parent and the child, we ask your help in supervising your children with respect to their grooming and the selection of clothing to be worn to school. The schools also have an obligation to uphold good health and safety practices and to prevent disruption of the teaching/learning process.
The C. G. Sivells Uniform Dress Code Policy mandates that all students will wear clothing consisting of any combination of the following components. All clothing will be free of any large designs, writing or logos except school club shirts.
Shirts:
1. Sold red, white, or navy blue polo shirt with collar (long
or short sleeve).
2. Sold red, white, or navy blue button dress shirt with
collar (long or short sleeve).
3. Sold red, white, or navy blue long sleeve turtleneck.
4. Sold red, white, or navy blue sweatshirt worn over a
colored polo type, or turtle neck shirt.
5. Tiger booster club spirit t-shirt with a regulation
collared shirt beneath.
Pants, Shorts, Skorts, Skirts, &
Jumpers:
1. Khaki, navy or navy denim/corduroy
Belts and Shoes:
1. Belts are required with all pants, shorts, and skirts that
have belt loops.
2. Shoes of any brand or style may be worn as long as they
are secure on the feet and are not backless.
3. Shoes with retractable rollers and/or cleats will not
be allowed.
General Information
In addition to the specified clothing, the following general dress code guidelines will apply and be enforced. The District's dress code prohibits any clothing or grooming that, in the principal's judgment, may reasonably be expected to cause disruption or interference with normal school operations.
All shirts must be tucked in and a belt worn at all times. Skin and underwear may not be visible. No baggy clothing will be allowed.
Hats or caps are not to be worn in the school building.
Only stud earrings are acceptable for boys.
Hair must be neat, clean, and socially acceptable in style. No haircuts depicting design, emblems, or lines other than a regular part and no ponytails for boys will be allowed.
Clothing, accessories, or jewelry which depict or refer to alcoholic beverages, drugs, nudity, or any suggestive subject matter is not allowed.
Toys and personal electronics should not be brought to school unless approved by a teacher for use with a planned activity.
