Bluebonnet Program
Any 3rd graders may participate in the Bluebonnet Program. This reading program is sponsored by the Texas Library Association for students in grades 3-6. Participants must read at least 5 books from a list of 20 and pass AR tests on their selections. In January students who have read five books vote for their favorite. The votes are sent to TLA and the author is awarded a prize. The list consists of picture books, novels, biography, and non-fiction.  All Sivells students who read at least 5 Bluebonnet nominees and pass AR tests on these books are invited to attend a Bluebonnet party in March where the state wide winner will be announced.
