Mrs. Maffett is the librarian. She has a Masters in Library Science from Sam Houston University and a Bachelors in English and Reading from Southwest Texas State University. Before coming to Sivells in 2002 she taught at Wharton High School for seven years. There she taught English, Journalism, Newspaper, Yearbook, Web Mastery, and Desktop Publishing. Mrs. Maffett also taught English and Reading at O. Henry Middle School in Austin, TX for three years. |

Library Policies Students come to the library as a class every other week. They may come visit the library on their own as they have time in class. Students check-out books for two weeks. If they have an overdue book they may not get new books until the overdue book is returned or paid for. |

Grade Level
Policies First Grade Check-out Policies: During the Fall semester, 1st graders check-out one picture book at a time. Once first graders start the accelerated reader program, they may check-out two books. Second and Third Grade Check-out Policies: Students check-out three books at a time for a two week period. Accelerated Reader runs from September to May. |
