Goals
1.
By the year 2008, 90% of all students at
2. Attendance at C.W. Dawson Elementary will increase to 98% for all population groups in the 2007-08 school year.
3. C.W. Dawson Elementary will provide a safe and enjoyable environment for teaching and learning.
4. C.W. Dawson Elementary will increase and improve student, parental and community involvement which will result in a positive learning environment at school.
5. By 2008, C.W. Dawson Elementary will increase the use of technology by all students and staff.
6. By the end of the 2007-08 school year, C.W. Dawson Elementary will meet state standards for identifying and serving GT students.
7. C.W. Dawson Elementary will improve staff morale, relieve stress and build a sense of community among staff.
8. Highly Qualified Staff: By the end of 2007-2008, all students will be taught by highly qualified teachers who are assisted
by highly qualified paraprofessionals.
Objectives
1.1 90% of all C.W. Dawson students will meet or exceed state standards for TAKS Reading, Writing, Math and Science objectives
1.2 90% of all C.W. Dawson students will meet or exceed state standards for TAKS Writing objectives.
1.3 90% of all C.W. Dawson students will meet or exceed state standards for TAKS Math objectives.
1.4 90% of all C.W. Dawson students will meet or exceed state standards for TAKS Science objectives
2.1 98% of the students will attend 95% of the school year in order to ensure academic success
3.1 C.W. Dawson Elementary will continue to provide and ensure a safe and positive atmosphere
4.1 Parents will be invited to attend school conferences, activities and programs on a regular basis
5.1 All C.W. Dawson Elementary students and staff will be provided opportunities to increase computer literacy
6.1 All C.W. Dawson Elementary staff will be aware of the traits of GT students so that they may be identified and served
