attended Wharton County Junior College from1954 - 55. She was one of
the first black students to attend college there. She married Ellis

Kenneth of Rosenberg, TX. She has been a surgical nurse at Gulf Coast
Medical Center for over 35 years. Her hobbies include sewing and
reading.
She is very interested in the Wharton Independent School District because she believes we have very good administrators and teachers. She became interested in becoming a Board member because of her interest in the education of all children in WISD. She feels that she has been an asset to the Board because of her ethnic background and because she feels that she can act as a liaison between the school and parents.
She believes we have good students and that all students can learn. She feels that it is very important that students be guided by good parents that will guide their children in the right direction when they are not at school.
